It all started with $140 and a plan. $140? A plan? What are you talking about here?
Gregory and his wife, Marina, started a wedding fund for their two daughters in May 2017. At the time Mya was 9 and Callie was 2. It started with the purchase of one share of a listed security for $140 with the commitment to purchasing another share each month. Regardless of other financial obligations, Gregory and Marina refused to deviate from the plan they created.
As time went on the two of them were able to afford to invest more money monthly than in the beginning. Now, that first share purchased for $140 is worth $745 as of 12:00 p.m. on November 7, 2025. Mya is a 17-year-old senior at Lexington High School, and Callie a 10-year-old fourth grader at Rocky Creek Elementary. The point is it all started with a plan, a goal, and discipline. This is the heart of investing: a plan.
When was the last time you got on an airplane with no plan of where to land? Taking a cruise with no idea where the boat was going? Started your car up with nowhere to drive to? There is always a plan and investing is no different.
